On Tuesday (Apr. 11) police in Hyogo Prefecture arrested a 27-year-old male company worker who allegedly entered a women’s restroom, reached under the door of a toilet stall that was being used by a female high school student and grabbed her ankle.
According to Hyogo Prefectural Police, on November 10 of last year at about 10: 25 a.m., Kōsuke Shimizu entered the women’s restroom at the Sanyosuma Station in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. After entering he went to a stall that was occupied by a 17-year-old second year female high school student, reached under the door and grabbed her right ankle. Following this he let go of her ankle and left without doing anything else to the victim.
Reports indicate that the victim was too scared to scream when she saw the hand come at her from under the stall door.
Police were able to use security camera footage to identify the suspect as Shimizu. The footage reportedly shows Shimizu loitering in the area near the train station women’s room before following the victim into the restroom.
Police have arrested Shimizu on suspicion of trespassing and assault. Shimizu has admitted to the charges.
