The stars of the upcoming live action adaptation of the popular manga and anime Gintama wish viewers a “Happy New Year” in a video uploaded to Youtube on December 31st.
The video begins with Shun Oguri (Gintoki Sakata), Masaki Suda (Shinpachi Shimura) and Kanna Hashimoto (Kagura) all in character wardrobe and wishing viewers a “Happy New Year” (akemashite omedeto gozaimasu). The video also features the alien companion character, Elizabeth, holding up a sign that reads “Happy New Year” (ake ome). The video then ends with a teaser for the movie, which was released last month..
The live action Gintama movie is slated to hit theaters in July of this year.
